Chuck Norris For President!

For those of you who don't know, Chuck Norris writes a weekly column over at WorldNetDaily. He writes pretty well. Also, there was this column from about a month ago, in which he discusses what he would do if he became president. Please go read it, it's AWESOME!

While we're on the subject of presidential candidates, I would like to make clear my current picks, in this order:

0. Chuck Norris -- but he's not running.
1. Fred Thompson -- I just believe he's got the best ideas and would be great as president. He speaks very well to the average Joe and just exudes common sense in how he speaks and presents himself. I think he could make the tough decisions, in a way that would make people see things his way. He could also be a VP candidate for...
1A. Newt Gingrich -- Yes, Newt has great ideas himself. He also has a lot of experience and he's sincere. He has leadership experience, as House Minority Whip and Speaker of the House. He could be the VP candidate for Fred. I think either a Thompson-Gingrich ticket or a Gingrich-Thompson ticket would be a winner.
2. Mitt Romney -- Any Republican who can win the governorship of Massachusetts, a state long ruled by the Kennedys and other liberal Democrats, must be doing something right. While I don't agree with him on everything, I like his stance on a lot of the issues.
3. Rudy Giuliani -- I don't agree with Rudy on a lot of issues, but he is a pretty good Republican, and you can't deny the man's leadership capabilities. He reformed NYC in many ways, greatly reducing crime and waste, and guided it through the dark times after 9/11 with incredible grace and power. A successful Republican mayor in one of America's most liberal cities is a rare thing, and America needs a real leader right now.

It's obvious that America needs a real leader right now, and I feel the Republicans are still in the best position to provide it. Democrats focus far too much on individual polls and spend too much time blowing with the wind. Leaders can't merely blow with the wind; they must take stands, they must build support for their own ideas, and they must even impose their will at times. Democrats since the 60s just haven't been able to do this. Many consider Clinton a great president, but what kind of leader was he, really? How about Jimmy Carter? Democrats' "tolerance and civility" nonsense has stripped them of their will, and that's why a Democrat might be president in 2008, but probably won't lead the American people.

Thanks for reading along.
