Just Say No

Opening Thought:

I need to just say 'no' more. I seem to have a tendency at times to over-commit, and I really need to stop that. So from now on, if someone asks me to do something and it's not part of something I've already committed to, my default answer is going to be 'no'. We'll all be so much happier that way. I also need to make sure I follow through properly on things I've committed to. I had thought I was doing an OK job of this, but it seems now that I haven't been, and so that will be my big improvement point over the next few weeks. I guess it's one thing to be likeable, it's quite another to be dependable.

A few choice news items from the last day or so:

Up to 8 inches of snow expected in the Colorado mountains by Memorial Day
(Update: this one was from yesterday and it already came true. The mountains just west of Denver all have nice, fresh snowcaps, and I saw several cars that had snow on them while driving in to work. "But Colorado is PARADISE!! We would NEVER get snow this close to June...how unusual!" Again, it happens pretty much every year.)

I said in my last post that my parents are coming to town this weekend. I'm looking forward to that, and I'm looking forward to Sunday morning, when we'll be baptizing Owen. Heidi dug out Donovan's baptism outfit from storage yesterday, and I'm sure it will look adorable on Owen. He's such a cute little guy, anyway; it's difficult to imagine something that wouldn't look good on him (of course, I'm biased in this regard, am I not?). I'll put up a picture early next week.

Thanks for reading along.
