This is pretty interesting just from a tech standpoint, but what really made the article for me was the following quote:

But audiences - test runs were done in Boston, New York and Los Angeles - generally approved of the technology, which adds depth to the field and gives a sense of being there in person. Shots of cheerleaders were a big hit.

Mmmm, I can only imagine. I can see where this will lead...much like the Internet, we know that 3-D is really designed for porn.
